Angela Langat

Angela Langat

Assistant Research Fellow, CEMA

Angela Langat holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Stirling in Scotland. She is interested in causal inference and economic evaluation particularly of public health interventions. She hopes to strengthen her skills in quantitative analysis and to learn how this can be applied to health data. She looks forward to building meaningful networks and intends to pursue further studies in health economics in the future.

Brian is a data Scientist with a Bachelor of Science in Statistics at Egerton University. He has a deep fascination with machine learning and statistics modelling, constantly seeking opportunities to expand his knowledge in these fields. At CEMA, he expects to gain a deeper understanding of these fields and engage in practical learning. Moreover, he is eager to expand his network and engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Dr. George Paul Omondi

Dr. George Paul Omondi

Senior Research Fellow, CEMA

George is a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Epidemiological Modelling and Analysis (CEMA) at the University of Nairobi. He holds a PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Minnesota, and a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Nairobi. He specializes in applied epidemiological modeling, and data analytics integrating field data with computational methods to develop decision support systems, and predictive tools, and generate actionable insights into human-animal health systems, disease surveillance and control, risk assessment, and public health policy. His interests span developing data intelligence systems bridging human, animal, and environmental health under a One Health lens.

Dr. Purity Nyaikamba

Dr. Purity Nyaikamba

Scientific Coordinator, CEMA

Dr. Nyaikamba has joined CEMA as the Scientific Coordinator for the African Modelling Network for NTDs (AM2NTD) and Africa Modelling and Analytics for Women (AMAX) programs. A dedicated advocate for global health, she holds a bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) and more recently, an MSc in Health Policy, Planning, and Financing from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). Purity brings over seven years of experience in health policy and advocacy, program management and fostering strategic partnerships. Prior to joining CEMA, Purity held roles in pharmaceutical regulatory affairs and led partnerships and advocacy for the First Global youth organization dedicated to ending NTDs. Passionate about the role of leadership and youth engagement in driving social change, Purity is a Mandela Washington Fellowship alumna, a member of the International Leadership Association and an Advisor and Honorary Life Member of the International Pharmaceutical Students' Federation.

Assistant Research Fellow, CEMA

Ryan Musasia is an emerging data scientist dedicated to the transformative potential of data in catalyzing positive change on a global scale. With a robust academic background and an unwavering commitment to sustainable development, Ryan holds a Bsc in Meterology from University of Nairobi. As a new member of CEMA Africa, he is excited to enhance his knowledge in how environmental insights can contribute to the advancement of health and epidemiology research. He also hopes to gain skills in mathematical Modelling and machine learning.

Stanley Saiyanka

Stanley Saiyanka

Assistant Research Fellow, CEMA

Stanley is a Data Scientist at CEMA with expertise in statistical analysis, machine learning, and data visualization. He contributes to research projects focused on epidemiological modeling and public health analytics.
