Africa Modelling Network for Neglected Tropical Diseases (AM2NTD)

Hosted at the Centre for Epidemiological Modelling and Analysis, AM2NTD seeks to optimize and increase uptake of interventions within NTD endemic countries.

The network goal is to enhance the control and elimination of NTDs through use of insights from mathematical modelling to accelerate the achievement of NTD elimination targets in endemic countries.

Network Objectives

Predict the potential impact of new interventions and identify where their implementaiton would be most cost-effective at sub-national levels

Optimal implementation of existing interventions by country-specific parameterization and operalization of Endgame analyses and other models from the NTD modelling consortium

Optimal implementation of existing interventions by country-specific parameterization and operalization of Endgame analyses and other models from the NTD modelling consortium

Strengthening the community of practice and partnerships between modellers and NTD program managers to accelerate uptake of modelling insights and achievement of targets in endemic countries

Increased connections among health modellers in Africa by establishing the AM2NTD

Current Projects

Building on CEMA's work as part of the NTD modelling consortium to enhance country-level modelling for schistosomiasis and soil transmitted helminths and incorporate elimination strategies

Support schistosomiasis modelling in Senegal to inform optimal treatment strategies
