Dr. Frederick Wangai is a Physician and a Fellow in Clinical Infectious Diseases at the University of Nairobi, working with Dr.Loice Achieng and Dr. Marybeth Maritim. His research interests have sought to bridge existing knowledge and practice gaps in the fields of antimicrobial resistance, HIV and most recently, COVID-19 among the Kenyan population. His publications have looked at the prevalence of antimicrobial resistance at the Kenyatta National Hospital. His mission statement is “to leave a lasting legacy that lives on after I am gone” – through seeking to impact others through mentorship and teaching, while contributing to the global scientific body of knowledge via credible research.
