Dr. Victor Riitho

Biography

Victor is a post-doctoral researcher at CEMA with a biomedical science background currently working on the zoonotic transmission of MERS-Coronavirus in camels and humans in Kenya.

He has previously worked on projects focused on understanding the immunobiology of several infectious diseases in humans and animals (HIV/AIDs, African Swine Fever, Malaria, Bovine Viral Diarrhoea, and East Coast Fever) with the aim of informing the design of better vaccines and therapeutics. He is also interested in improving scientific engagement and capacity building in Africa. He is torn between his love of mountains and the ocean.
