As the world recovers from COVID-19, another deadly health crisis quietly looms: antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Often called a "silent pandemic," AMR occurs when bacteria, viruses, and fungi evolve to resist treatment, rendering life-saving antibiotics and other drugs ineffective.

The African Population and Health Research Centre (APHRC), with funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, is partnering with the University of Nairobi Centre for Epidemiological Modelling and Analysis (CEMA), Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), Strathmore University and United States International University (USIU) to offer Agent-Based Modeling training from April 28 to May 9, 2025.
