The Center for Epidemiological Modelling and Analysis (CEMA) is a multidisciplinary consortium of scientists that uses data-driven techniques to push the boundaries of epidemiology and clinical research. Comprised of experts in epidemiology, infectious diseases, mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science and social sciences, CEMA applies the latest tools to gain insights into the spread of diseases, identify potential outbreaks, and develop effective response measures.

Our multifaceted approach combines advanced research, innovative technology, and collaborative partnerships to tackle Africa's most pressing health challenges.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration
Combining the speed and agility of the private sector with the rigor and astuteness of academia, CEMA brings together experts from epidemiology, infectious diseases, mathematics, statistics, and data science to tackle complex health challenges.
Data-Driven Decision Making
CEMA's data analytics initiatives such as the Kenya Health Facilities Survey and Census and the Kenya Health Facilities Assessment are some of the useful inputs used to drive impactful research and health policy decisions.
Infectious Disease focus
We employ epidemiological and modeling skills to understand the emergence, transmission, spread, and control of infectious diseases, mainly of zoonotic origin. Our research provides evidence that guides policies on prevention and control of these infectious diseases to improve public health.
Africa Data for Health
Combining the speed and agility of the private sector with the rigor and astuteness of academia, CEMA aims at comprehensively addressing these "Africa Data for Health" focus areas:
Health Data infrastructure strengthening
Data wrangling and visualizations
Building of Data Collection Digital Tools
Applied epidemiological and mathematical modelling analysis
Data-driven decision-making and policy formulation
Data literacy for healthcare professionals and policymakers
CEMA's data analytics hub integrates vast health datasets into actionable insights. We have done great works on the Kenya Health Facilities Survey and Census and the Kenya Health Facilities Assessment to drive impactful research and health policy decisions.
Data Inputs
We collect, integrate, and analyze diverse health datasets from multiple sources to create comprehensive insights for researchers and policymakers.
Our Work
Our work spans clinical research, epidemiological modelling and analysis, and health economics. We combine different methods with domain expertise to generate actionable insights that support health policy and decisions making.
Added Value
Drawing from diverse data inputs, we add value by transforming raw information into actionable insights. We ensure the data is not only interpreted, but made meaningful forming a solid foundation for impactful policy briefs and strategic decision-making.
Policy Insights
We deliver insightful outputs through publications, briefs, and data driven tools that inform policy decisions and drive actionable change to our stakeholders.
