Austine Omondi has joined CEMA as a Software Engineer Intern. He is driven by a passion for leveraging technology to solve real-world challenges and is skilled at extracting actionable insights from complex datasets, as well as integrating statistical and mathematical models into intuitive applications.

Austine’s previous work includes building robust backend systems, streamlining data pipelines, developing AI solutions for digital health, and enhancing web content and performance to meet diverse user needs primarily within the health sector. He has been a core developer of diagnostic tools used in Kisumu and Kilifi counties, and has contributed to the development of OpenMRS (KenyaEMR) and other health information system (HIS) solutions widely adopted in Kenya.

With a background in Computer Science and Biostatistics, and hands-on experience with Kenya’s HIS infrastructure, Austine is well-positioned to contribute meaningfully to CEMA’s technical initiatives.

Outside of work, Austine enjoys writing philosophical and tech blogs, playing the guitar, and staying active on the football field.
