Epidemiology
Quick Facts
Ann Kamau has joined CEMA as an Epidemiology Intern, where she supports various functions across projects. Her responsibilities include the collection and analysis of epidemiological data, conducting systematic reviews and evidence synthesis, developing epidemiological models and disease burden estimates, visualizing findings, drafting technical reports, and maintaining documentation.
Ann holds a Bachelor's degree in Biostatistics from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. During her studies, she undertook an attachment at the Nakuru County Department of Health Services, where she served at the Public Health Emergency Operations Centre (PHEOC). There, she was actively involved in disease surveillance (both indicator-based and event-based), rapid outbreak response, health data quality audits, program assessments, and data analysis. She later volunteered in the same office, supporting additional county health programs through data collection, analysis, and interpretation to inform evidence-based public health interventions.
Outside of work, Ann enjoys reading, watching movies, and socializing.
